Horses, silly!

I mean, come on. Everybody does it sometime, right? We get to go on a trail ride, going

"Oh, I hope I don't get that small shrimpy horse over there..."

Poor pony. They might have a real treasure inside. ♥

I figured out last Saturday, they do. They really do. They also have a lot of character. Unlike the push-button ponies that are bought and bred.

Lemme tell you the story.

I was standing by the posting hitch, waiting to be assigned a horse for my weekly riding lessons. In my head, looking at the smallest horse (not that small, but still), I thought subconciously 'I hope I get Wiz and not Tonto'. You guessed right; I got Tonto. But guess what? As I enter the arena, I give him the crop to move into the canter, and the transition is perfect. The trot is perfect. The canter is perfect. He still dosn't beat my girl, Wiz, but he sure gets pretty dang close.

I learned a lot that morning. The treasures can be on the inside, like the old saying your mom used to tell you; "Dont judge a book by it's cover". Too true, friends.

Just love 'em all. Don't have to like them, just love 'em.
